Democrats Unveil Newest Collection of Epstein Photos as Justice Department Deadline Looms

The House Oversight Committee has published a set of roughly 70 photos obtained from the property of late found guilty individual convicted of sex crimes Jeffrey Epstein.

This constitutes the third such publication from a tranche of over 95,000 photographs the panel has acquired from Epstein's holdings. It includes images of quotes from the literary work Lolita written across a woman's body, and censored photos of women's international passports.

This action occurs mere hours before the 19th of December deadline for the Department of Justice to release all documents associated with its investigation into Epstein.

"These new photographs pose additional queries about precisely what the DOJ has in its holdings," stated the Democratic lead of the committee, Robert Garcia.

Contents in the Photographs Made Public

Several of the images made public on Thursday feature Epstein in discussion with professor and activist Noam Chomsky aboard a private plane; Bill Gates standing beside a female whose features is censored; Steve Bannon seated at a workstation opposite Epstein, and ex- Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner gathering.

These are the newest wealthy, influential figures to be photographed in Epstein's estate photographs disclosed by the oversight panel - formerly released images also show US President Donald Trump and former president Bill Clinton, as well as movie director Woody Allen, ex- US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, attorney Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and other figures.

Appearing in the photographs is not indication of any misconduct, and a number of the pictured individuals have asserted they were in no way implicated in Epstein's unlawful actions.

In a statement accompanying the photograph publication, Democratic members on the US House Oversight Committee said the Epstein property holders did not offer context or timings for the photographs.

"Photographs were picked to offer the general populace with openness into a typical cross-section of the photos received from the holdings, and to provide insights into Epstein's associates and his profoundly alarming actions," the statement says.

The publication also contains several photos of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov book Lolita written in ink across several locations of a woman's body, like her torso, feet, hip, and spine. Lolita tells the tale of a young girl who was groomed by a middle-aged literature professor.

A particular passage from the book inscribed across a female's upper body states, "Lolita: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the mouth to land, at three, on the teeth".

Additionally, there are a collection of photos of women's identification and identification documents from states globally, such as Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

A large portion of the details on the documents, like names and dates of birth, is obscured but the House Oversight Committee said in a announcement that the passports belong to "individuals whom Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators were engaging".

A further photo features Epstein seated at a workstation closely in the company of three female figures whose faces have been censored - a first has her palm on Epstein's chest under his shirt, and another is leaning to view a close-by laptop. Epstein can be seen to be helping the third attach a bracelet.

Another photograph disclosed is a screenshot of digital messages from an unidentified individual who claims they have been provided "a number of girls" and are requesting "$$1,000 per female".

Image Disclosure Arrives Prior to DOJ Cut-off

The body has many thousands of images in its holdings from the Epstein property, which are "simultaneously disturbing and everyday," its announcement on recently noted.

The Congressional committee first subpoenaed the estate of Epstein, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while facing trial on allegations of human trafficking, in August.

The images and files the Epstein estate gave to the committee are different than what is largely called "Epstein-related records". That material are papers within the Department of Justice's possession associated with its own investigation into Epstein.

In accordance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which the President made law recently, the DOJ has until 19 December to release its files. The scope of what is contained in the DOJ's files is unknown, and it's probable that a significant portion of the information will be heavily redacted, comparable to the committee's materials
