Devoted followers of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who leaped a barricade and touched the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or removed from Singapore.
A circulating video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past media personnel and lunging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a promenade surrounded by supporters.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the premiere by security officers.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being taken in", though official papers showed that he was set to attend court on the next day. It is not clear if he was formally accused.
This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram feed features recordings of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last December.
"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is evidently a punishable act," commented an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.
"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user questioned.
Several supporters blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed suffering from PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring hundreds.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said another message on Instagram.
Some attendees also criticised security officers at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals called for online networks to ban Mr Wen's uploads.
In clips spreading on the internet, Grande looked surprised when she was touched by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.
Grande has not commented on the situation, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.
Hundreds of attendees had congregated in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including some who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it started.
The motion picture, to be launched on November 21, is the sequel of a two-part interpretation of the well-known theatrical show Wicked, which revolves around the surprising bond between two distinct characters.
The production itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was dressed in a light pink sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who plays the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.
They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and earned ten Academy Award nods, winning two for outstanding attire and production design.
