An individual who spiked sweets with tranquilliser and distributed them to minors at a summer camp in Leicestershire has admitted sexual offences against two young males aged nine and ten years old.
The accused was taken into custody after eight youngsters and one adult became sick at the facility in the summer month.
The senior citizen, from Ruddington in Nottinghamshire, confessed to a series of 17 offences when he was present at the judicial center on the end of the week.
Yet, he denied a single sexual charge he was accused of, which was involving a nine-year-old boy.
The defendant was held in detention ahead of a additional proceeding on November 28th.
The prosecutor, prosecuting, outlined the defendant's actions to the legal proceedings.
She stated his those affected were under-privileged children who were staying at a youth camp which he operated.
The defendant conducted a "treat game" with the minors, the prosecutor stated, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were settling down and request they to ingest treats "rapidly".
She stated to the judge Ruben had conducted this practice with the children "repeatedly", and minors had earlier experienced illness the following morning.
She said the defendant had been capable of justifying this for many years as the minors being "overexcited from fun", until his stepchild had worries in July 2025.
Mrs Prior KC continued: "In the summer" his stepchild had concerns about the activities, justifiably.
"They decided to examine in the individual's items."
The legal counsel stated items including lubricant, Vaseline and syringes were discovered, and his family member contacted the police about his suspicions.
She stated the man proceeded to play the "candy game" with six boys that evening - July 26th - and they were everyone unwell the subsequent day.
"Law enforcement" had not arrived by that stage," she added.
The regulatory agency, the police conduct office, earlier informed that it was reviewing Leicestershire Police's handling of the situation.
The prosecutor explained the minors were unable to walk properly due to their sickness, so the stepson contacted the law enforcement once more.
She said the defendant then played the "sweet game" in a area of five children.
